Kyrin Tucker is 6-foot-5, 290 pounds and 15 years old. Yet, the startling number in regard to the Normal Community West High School freshman is 18.
That’s his shoe size.
“It’s really hard to find shoes,” he said, smiling. “My mom gets them somehow.”
It’s what moms do. They find a way. If it means special ordering tennis shoes, dress shoes, etc., so be it.
That said, there was one shoe problem mom could not solve. It became an issue when, as a Parkside Junior High eighth-grader, Tucker grew from size 16 to 18.

Our family knows exactely what they are going through so they are not alone. My son is 16 and wears a 19/20. All I can say is WTG mom because if she does what I do we spend all day on the phone or on the interent looking for sites that carry these sizes in shoes.
