HOLLY ROBERTSON | DISTANCE | ST. CHARLES, ILL. | ST. CHARLES EAST H.S.
Robertson was a four-year letter winner in cross country and track and field at St. Charles East High School. As a co-captain in both sports during her senior year, Robertson helped the Fighting Saints to conference championships in cross country in addition to indoor and outdoor track. She also helped the cross country squad to a third-place finish at the state meet in 2008. As a junior and senior, Robertson was named all-conference in both cross country and track, while being named academic all-conference each year in high school.

Nelson on Robertson: “Holly comes from an outstanding high school program.  With her experience and training background, she is poised to have a great career at Marquette.”

BOB GUTHRIE | DISTANCE | NAPERVILLE, ILL. | NAPERVILLE NORTH H.S.
Guthrie earned three letters each in cross country and track and field at Naperville North High School where he was selected team co-captain in both during his senior year. He helped the cross country team to its first ever IHSA AAA Cross Country  Championship in 2008, in addition to a fifth-place finish in 2007 and a seventh-place finish in 2009. The Huskies also captured regional and sectional crowns in cross country during his sophomore and junior seasons. With the Naperville Cross Country Club, placed third at the Nike Cross Country Nationals in 2008 after placing second at the Midwest Regional. Individually in 2009, Guthrie placed 20th overall at the Nike Midwest Regional and 19th at the Foot Locker Midwest Regional meet. Guthrie holds a cross country personal best of 15:43 in a 5K meet. During the spring of his senior year, he ran a personal-best tim of 9:16.81 in the 3,200-meter run. For his work in the classroom, he was named to the cross country academic all-conference team the past three years.

Nelson on Guthrie: “Bob has worked his way into being one of the top high school distance runners in the state of Illinois.  He was on a state champion cross-country squad and looks to bring his winning ways to Marquette.”

MARCELL KIRKMANBEY | HURDLES | LINDENHURST, ILL. | LAKES COMMUNITY H.S.

In addition to track, KirkmanBey earned three letters in basketball and one each in cross country and football.

Rogers on KirkmanBey: “Marcell is a tremendous talent who will make an immediate impact in the hurdles.  He is someone who will really benefit from our fall training.  In high school he would come right from basketball to track and I think the more event specific work he can do in the fall will really pay off during the season.”
